What We Do:

Responding to an increased focus on broadband adoption and measurement at the federal level, as well as the continued failure to consistently and verifiably map existing broadband infrastructure, performance, and value, we aim to establish best practices and enable communities, governments, and individuals to access information they need.

We envision a future where stakeholders accept, embrace, and prioritize the use of standardized publicly available, open, and transparent broadband analytics data for use in determining federal funding eligibility, broadband network policy, infrastructure planning, digital inclusion planning, and more.

Who We Serve:

Millions of U.S. residents live without adequate broadband access. The data on broadband coverage that U.S. policymakers, advocates, and researchers use to identify unserved areas is insufficient and often misleading.

Our resources, toolkits, and diverse community share information about efforts to identify gaps in broadband availability and adoption so that we can deliver broadband services to the places that need it most.

  • State, local, and Tribal governments who need better data on where to allocate resources to support broadband access and adoption
  • Federal policy makers seeking to understand best practices in broadband mapping and measurement
  • Nonprofits and philanthropic organizations identifying how they can most effectively contribute to solutions
  • Researchers creating transparent and accurate tools to measure true broadband availability and user experience
